Scheduling A Cron-job To Start At Reboot In RHEL 6


Below is how to schedule a script (through cron) to start at reboot.

Edit crontab for the root by issuing below command as root.

crontab -e

Edit with the following contents. It could be your own script. Just prefix @reboot.

@reboot /opt/app/apache-tomcat-8.015/bin/startup.sh

      Yes. Similarly we can create a link to our scripts in /etc/rc0.d directory so as to have them executed at shutdown.
